Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss sliced button mushrooms with olive oil, garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the seasoned mushroom mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Sprinkle cheddar cheese followed by Parmesan cheese over the mushrooms.
  5. Evenly pour the heavy cream over the entire casserole.
  6. Mix melted unsalted butter with breadcrumbs and sprinkle over the top of the casserole.
  7. Transfer the baking dish into your preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For extra crispiness, turn on the broiler for the final 2-3 minutes of baking.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
