Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tsp of baking soda, and ½ tsp of salt until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, and ½ cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in 2 tsp of vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until just incorporated.
  6. Gently fold in 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips using a spatula.
  7. Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, then drizzle 1 cup of caramel sauce over it.
