Step-by-Step Instructions for Banana Chocolate Chip Bars
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper and lightly spray it with cooking spray.
- Cream together 1/2 cup of unsalted butter and 1 cup of light brown sugar in a large mixing bowl for about 2 minutes.
- Add 1 large egg, 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of fine salt to the mixture and mix on low speed until just combined.
- Gradually add in 1 cup of all-purpose flour, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in 1 cup of mashed overripe bananas and 3/4 cup of chocolate chips gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle reserved chocolate chips over the top.
- Bake for 33-37 minutes until edges are golden brown and center is set but soft.
