Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. Combine 1 box of cake mix, ½ cup melted butter, and 1 egg in a large bowl. Mix until smooth.
  3. Spread the dough evenly in the pan and bake for 7 minutes until slightly underbaked.
  4. In another bowl, mix the condensed milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 egg, 1 cup chopped pecans, and 1 cup shredded coconut.
  5. Pour the topping over the warm cookie base and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake again for 24 to 30 minutes until topping is golden brown and center is set.
  7. Cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
