  • 5 slices Thick White Bread day-old for better texture
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Whole Milk for a luscious flavor
  • 1 pinch Salt for flavor balance

  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon adjust to taste

  • 1 tablespoon Butter divided for frying

Method
 

Directions
  1. Start by trimming the crusts from thick white bread slices and cut each slice into 9 equal cubes.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 1 cup of whole milk, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  3. In a shallow bowl, combine ½ cup of granulated sugar with 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon and mix thoroughly.
  4. Heat ½ tablespoon of butter in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until bubbly; dip half of the bread cubes into the egg mixture.
  5. Fry the soaked cubes for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  6. Use tongs to transfer the warm cubes to the cinnamon-sugar mixture and toss to coat.
  7. In the same skillet, add remaining ½ tablespoon of butter and repeat cooking with the remaining bread cubes.
  8. Plate the bites while warm and drizzle with maple syrup before serving.
