Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned, then drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Layer thinly sliced potatoes evenly over the beef mixture, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan over the potato layers, then pour beef broth around the edges, adding milk if desired.
- Cover with aluminium foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.
