Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and grease a baking sheet or pizza pan with olive oil.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then sauté 3 minced garlic cloves for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add 16 ounces of thinly sliced cremini mushrooms, ½ teaspoon of dried thyme, ½ teaspoon of dried oregano, and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-6 minutes until mushrooms are tender.
  4. Dust a clean surface with yellow cornmeal, roll out the 1 pound of pizza dough into a 12-inch round shape about ¼ inch thick.
  5. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet, layer with 8 slices of mozzarella, 1 cup of ricotta, and the sautéed mushrooms.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven, let cool for a minute, slice into wedges, and serve warm.
