Preparation Steps
- Melt 1 ¼ cups of butter in a saucepan over low heat for 3-5 minutes.
- Combine melted butter with 2 cups of quick oats, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, and 1 cup of brown sugar in a large mixing bowl, mixing until crumbly.
- Press ⅔ of the crumbly mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking pan and bake at 325°F for about 10 minutes.
- Melt ¼ cup of butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, then stir in 1 cup of brown sugar for 2-3 minutes.
- Whisk in ½ cup of milk and 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour to the caramel mixture andcontinue stirring for 3-5 minutes.
- Pour the caramel filling over the cooled crust and sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture on top.
- Bake the assembled bars at 300°F for an additional 20 minutes.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan for approximately 1 hour before slicing.
