For the Sauce
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter Ghee is a dairy-free alternative
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced Garlic powder may be used
  • 0.33 cup Fresh lemon juice About 2 lemons
  • 1 tbsp Lemon zest Optional
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped Basil can be used as substitute
  • 0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes Optional for heat

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Remove the salmon fillets from the refrigerator 15 minutes before cooking.
  2. Pat the fillets dry and season with kosher salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  3. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil when hot.
  4. Place salmon fillets in the skillet skin-side up and cook undisturbed for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Remove salmon from skillet and tent with foil. Lower heat, add butter, and melt.
  7. Add minced garlic to butter and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  8. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  9. Return salmon to skillet, spoon sauce over each piece, and garnish with parsley.
