Ingredients

For the Salad
  • 8 ounces spaghetti The base of this salad providing a satisfying chew.
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes Adds sweetness and acidity; substitute grape tomatoes if needed.
  • 1 medium cucumber Offers a refreshing crunch; feel free to swap with any crunchy salad vegetable.
  • 1 medium green bell pepper Contributes mild flavor; use red or yellow for a sweeter twist.
  • 1 medium red bell pepper Enhances color and sweetness; shredded carrots are a great substitute.
  • 1/2 medium red onion Introduces a sharp kick; green onions can replace it for a milder taste.
  • 1/2 cup black olives Optional for a briny touch; omit or use capers if preferred.
For the Dressing
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing Infuses the salad with tangy flavor; consider making your own for a fresher taste.
Garnish (Optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil the pasta by filling a large pot with water, adding salt, and bringing to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Drain spaghetti in a colander and rinse under cold running water for about 30 seconds to halt cooking and cool it down.
  3. Chop fresh vegetables: halve cherry tomatoes, dice cucumber, chop green and red bell peppers, and red onion.
  4. In a mixing bowl, fold the cooled spaghetti into the chopped vegetables.
  5. Add black olives (if using) and drizzle Italian dressing over the mixture, ensuring even coating.
  6. Toss everything together with tongs to make sure every piece is coated in dressing.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with Parmesan cheese if desired.
  8. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.
