Preparation
  1. Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and almond extract until smooth. Divide and color the mixture. Chill until use.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Combine warm milk and yeast in another bowl, allowing it to foam.
  3. Add eggs and dry ingredients to the yeast mixture to form dough. Incorporate softened butter until elastic.
  4. Roll the dough and fill it with cream cheese mixture, then roll tightly into logs and twist.
  5. Let the shaped babkas rise until doubled in size.
  6. Bake in preheated oven until golden and internal temperature is 185-190°F.
  7. Prepare sugar syrup and brush over babka after baking, then cool before serving.
