Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Jalapeno Bourbon BBQ Sauce
  1. Rinse the fresh strawberries under cold water to remove any dirt. In a food processor, finely puree the strawberries along with peeled and chopped onions and jalapenos.
  2. In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, combine the pureed mixture with apple cider vinegar, bourbon, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well to mix all ingredients together.
  3. Heat the pot over medium-high heat until the mixture reaches a gentle boil, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer, uncovered, for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Ladle the hot Strawberry Jalapeno Bourbon BBQ Sauce into previously sterilized glass jars, leaving about 1/4 inch of headspace at the top.
  5. Prepare a large pot of boiling water for the canning process. Submerge the jars in boiling water and process for 15 minutes.
