  • 1 cup Shredded White Cheddar or Monterey Jack
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust according to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper a pinch can elevate the dish
For the Filling
  • 6 large Eggs fresh
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream or whole milk
  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter for sautéing
  • 6 slices Bacon cooked and crumbled
For the Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Chives fresh, can substitute green onions

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Squeeze the excess moisture from thawed hash browns, mix with cheddar, salt, and pepper, and press into a greased springform pan. Freeze for 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F. Bake the crust for 15 minutes until golden brown. Let cool.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet, sauté onions for 10-15 minutes until caramelized. Set aside to cool.
  4. Whisk together eggs and heavy cream in a bowl, stir in onions, cheddar, bacon, salt, and pepper until blended.
  5. Lower oven temperature to 375°F. Pour filling into the crust and bake for 25-30 minutes until set.
  6. Let the quiche cool for 10 minutes before slicing and garnishing with chives.
