Method
 

Dough Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornmeal, salt, sugar, and active dry yeast. Gradually add warm water and melted unsalted butter. Mix until a rough dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  2. Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  3. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out to a large circle, then fit it into the deep dish pizza pan.
Assembling and Baking
  1. Layer mozzarella cheese on the bottom of the crust.
  2. Mix crushed tomatoes with oregano, basil, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Spoon over cheese and add desired toppings. Sprinkle Parmesan on top.
  3. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  4. Let the pizza cool for 10 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
