Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt 3/4 cup of butter in a mixing bowl. Add 3/4 cup of light brown sugar and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Mix until smooth.
  3. Incorporate 2 eggs, 1.5 teaspoons of white vinegar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of liquid red food coloring. Mix until even.
  4. Sift in 1/4 cup of cocoa powder, 1 cup plus 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Fold until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake for 30 to 40 minutes until the top is crinkly and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. Cool the brownies in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment and cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. For the frosting, beat together 4 oz of cream cheese, 1/4 cup of butter, a pinch of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla until smooth. Gradually sift in 1.5 to 2 cups of powdered sugar until desired consistency is reached.
