Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat the Oil: Pour in about 1 cup of vegetable oil in a medium deep skillet and heat over medium-high heat until it reaches around 350°F.
  2. Prepare the Candied Walnuts: Combine 1 cup of water, ⅔ cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of walnut halves in a saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat, then strain and let walnuts dry.
  3. Mix the Sauce: Whisk together 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 ½ tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of condensed milk, and ⅛ teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes in a bowl.
  4. Create the Batter: Whisk 3 egg whites and ½ cup of cornstarch together until soft peaks form.
  5. Fry the Shrimp: Dip shrimp into the batter and fry in small batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Toss in the Sauce: Immediately toss the fried shrimp in the creamy sauce to coat evenly.
