Sandwich Assembly
- Begin by slicing the focaccia bread lengthwise to create two equal halves, exposing the soft interior.
- Take the softened butter and generously apply it to both cut sides of the focaccia.
- In a small bowl, combine the grated or crushed garlic with mayonnaise to create a flavorful aioli. Spread this mixture evenly onto both halves of the focaccia.
- On the bottom half of the focaccia, layer fresh basil leaves, followed by the Genoa salami, smoked turkey, and ham. Then add slices of roasted red bell peppers and a generous layer of provolone cheese.
- Carefully place the top half of the focaccia back on top of the layered ingredients to create a complete sandwich.
- Tightly wrap the assembled sandwich in plastic wrap to secure all the delightful ingredients within. Place it on a baking sheet, weigh it down with a heavy object like a cast iron skillet, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Once sufficiently pressed, unwrap the sandwich and use a serrated knife to carefully slice it into portions.
