Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Wash and dry cucumbers thoroughly.
  2. Combine softened cream cheese, lemon juice, optional garlic, chives, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix until creamy.
  3. Slice cucumbers into 1/2-inch thick rounds and scoop out seeds if necessary. Pat dry with paper towels.
  4. Spread or pipe cream cheese filling onto each cucumber slice and top with a piece of cold-smoked salmon.
  5. Sprinkle additional chives and a dash of salt and pepper on top. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours.
