For the Meatballs
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Pork your choice of protein
  • 1 large Egg acts as a binder
  • 1/4 cup Almond Flour low-carb alternative
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Allspice adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese optional for dairy-free
For the Creamy Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons Butter can be substituted with olive oil
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream for creamy consistency
  • 1 cup Beef Broth preferably low-sodium
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce omit for simpler flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard for a hint of tang
Optional Garnishes
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Lingonberry Jam sugar-free version preferred

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef or pork, egg, almond flour, and spices. Mix until just combined and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Shape the mixture into uniform meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes or air fry for 12-15 minutes.
  4. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then stir in the heavy cream and beef broth, bringing it to a simmer.
  5. Add Worcestershire sauce and mustard, and let the sauce thicken for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Combine the cooked meatballs with the creamy sauce and simmer briefly to allow flavors to meld.
