- Cube the bread into bite-sized pieces and layer half in the baking dish.
- Layer the ham slices over the bread, then sprinkle half of the Swiss cheese on top.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, mustard, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Pour half the egg mixture over the layers in the baking dish.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining bread, ham, and Swiss cheese.
- Pour the remaining egg mixture over the top layer and press down gently.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 15-20 minutes.
