  • 1 pound Ground Beef Quarter pound patties
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Sea salt recommended
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard Yellow or Dijon
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
For the Toppings
  • 1 medium Onions Sliced thin, can use red or yellow
  • 1 cup Mushrooms Sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tablespoon Butter Can substitute with olive oil
  • 4 slices Sharp Cheddar Cheese
For Assembly
  • 4 buns Hamburger Buns Brioche or gluten-free
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise Greek yogurt for a lighter option
  • 1 tablespoon Additional Mustard As preferred

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Sauté the mushrooms and onions with Worcestershire sauce and red wine vinegar for about 10 minutes until caramelized.
  2. Add minced garlic to the sautéed vegetables and cook for another 5 minutes covered, then remove excess liquid.
  3. Form four quarter-pound patties from ground beef, season with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard.
  4. Cook the patties on a medium-high grill for 5 minutes on one side, flip, then cook for another 3 minutes with cheese on top.
  5. Butter the buns and toast them cut-side down in a skillet until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burger with mayonnaise and mustard on the bottom bun, followed by the patty and toppings.
