- Blanch the green beans in boiling salted water for 1 minute, then transfer to an ice water bath.
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onions with salt and pepper for 5-8 minutes, then cook on low for 15 minutes until caramelized.
- Add minced garlic to onions and cook for 1 additional minute.
- Heat remaining butter in the skillet and toss in the blanched green beans, add seasoning and red pepper flakes.
- Top green beans with caramelized onions and serve warm.
