Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Season the shrimp by tossing peeled and deveined large shrimp in a mixing bowl with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and optional cayenne pepper. Allow to marinate while preparing the sauce for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion, green bell pepper, and celery, stirring occasionally for 5-7 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic for the last minute.
  3. Stir in tomato paste and let it cook for 2 minutes. Pour in chicken stock and Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, and oregano. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  4. In a separate skillet, heat olive oil and add the seasoned shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Transfer shrimp into the sauce, mixing well.
  5. Serve the Spicy Voodoo Shrimp over white rice, grits, or alongside crusty bread. Garnish with parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
