Ingredients
  

For the Meat Base

  • 1 medium Onion Any type works as a substitute.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Fresh is always best.
For the Pasta
  • 2 cups Elbow Macaroni Swap with gluten-free pasta if needed.
For the Sauce
  • 15 oz Tomato Sauce Feel free to mix in seasoned varieties.
  • 14.5 oz Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 cup Beef Broth Can be replaced with vegetable broth.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce Skip for soy-free dish.
  • 1 tsp Paprika Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tsp Salt Tweak to suit your palate.
  • 1 tsp Pepper Tweak to suit your palate.
For the Finish
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese Optional; mozzarella is a lovely substitute.
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley Optional for garnishing.

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large pot, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add one diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Then, add 2 minced garlic cloves and stir for an additional minute.
  2. Introduce one pound of ground beef, breaking it up, and cook for 6-8 minutes until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in 15 oz of tomato sauce, 14.5 oz of diced tomatoes, and 1 cup of beef broth. Add 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp of paprika, and 1 tsp of Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Mix in 2 cups of uncooked elbow macaroni, cover the pot, and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until pasta is tender.
  5. If desired, sprinkle in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
  6. Ladle into warm bowls and optionally garnish with chopped parsley.
