Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 2 cups Sushi Rice Make sure it's seasoned well with sushi seasoning.
  • 1 tablespoon Sushi Seasoning Or substitute with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt.
For the Seafood Mixture
  • 1 can Canned Tuna Soaked in oil for moisture.
  • 8 ounces Imitation Crab Use any available brand.
  • 1 cup Masago Substitute with chopped green onions if needed.
For the Creaminess
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese Offers richness, can be omitted for a lighter bake.
  • 2 tablespoons Japanese Mayo Regular mayo works if Japanese mayo is unavailable.
For the Flavor Boost
  • 2 tablespoons Ponzu Sauce Mix soy sauce with lime/lemon juice as a substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon Korean Chili Paste Reduce or omit for milder spice.
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
For the Toppings
  • 1 tablespoon Furikake Use generously for added flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Additional Japanese Mayo Drizzle on top before broiling.

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Rinse sushi rice under cold water until clear, then cook according to package instructions. Combine with sushi seasoning in a bowl while warm.
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and layer the bottom of a greased baking dish with the sushi rice, pressing down gently.
  3. Sprinkle masago over the sushi rice, followed by a generous layer of furikake.
  4. In separate bowls, mix imitation crab with cream cheese, and canned tuna with Korean chili paste, ponzu sauce, and black pepper.
  5. Spread half of the creamy crab mixture on one side of the rice layer, and the spicy tuna mixture on the other.
  6. Drizzle Japanese mayo over the top, then sprinkle with more furikake before baking.
  7. Bake in the oven and broil for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before slicing into squares and serve with crispy nori.
