Step-by-Step Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef (or turkey). Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart until browned. Drain fat, stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water, simmer until thickened.
- In a small saucepan, heat refried beans over low heat, adding water until spreadable. Stir continuously for 3-5 minutes until warm and smooth.
- For crispy tortillas, heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry each tortilla for about 30 seconds on each side until golden brown. Alternatively, bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes.
- On one tortilla, spread a layer of refried beans, then add the seasoned meat mixture. Place a second tortilla on top, drizzle with sauce, and sprinkle cheese. Add toppings as desired.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place assembled pizzas on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven, let cool for a minute, slice into quarters and serve hot.
